magespawn wrote a new blog post: Inside a ******* * house party
The ONE thing M$ is very good at is propaganda, more commonly know as FUD. People like belonging to things and the Windows 7 launch parties make it cool so that people want to belong. Certain sections of the media also take this so that M$ now does not even have to pay for their [...]

magespawn wrote a new blog post: Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer: Chrome And Safari Are Rounding Errors
More wisdom from that other operating system.
Steve Ballmer going off about various topics and not sounding good doing it.
They bring up the issue of M$ bundling IE with Windows.
I always thought that was abuse of market share because of so many PC shipping with no choice in operating system, therefore no [...]5 months, 1 week ago · View -

I have an annoying problem.

What is the best way to deal with these?
Any tips and thoughts appreciated.5 months, 2 weeks ago · View -
magespawn commented on the blog post Intel, Microsoft port Silverlight to Linux
I have just finished reading the full article.
Two things immediately stand out: there is not mention of the Silverlight port being made open source, only that the source code has been given to Intel to develop with Moblin; and second: the very fact they did not use Moonlight is because they wish to retain proprietary [...]5 months, 2 weeks ago · View -

My family overseas uses Skype.
Do I have to use Skype to talk to them or is there another way?
If I have to use Skype, which is the best version? I see from their website they only have for Ubuntu 8.04 and 8.10.
Any help welcome.5 months, 3 weeks ago · View -

@Andrew @Alastair I sent a mail to CIPRO, you can read it and their responses here http://paste.ubuntu.com/268468/ and here http://paste.ubuntu.com/268470/.I was quite surprised to get a response and a quick one too, but I notice they do not give any time frame for this new software.

@ Alastair : Government Foss : Did you know that you cannot view all of the CIPRO website unless you use Internet Explorer? Other browsers just do not display anything, returning blank pages, and this does not only apply to Firefox. I have also tried SAFARI on windows and mac.

Exactly what I have been looking for. I also have ScribFire installed but have not used it yet. This is a add on for Firefox and can be found through the addons or here http://www.scribefire.com/.

magespawn commented on the blog post Google’s Chromium 4.0 on Linux is fast
I would like to know how Chromium stakes up in the security stakes.
I like all of the add ons that I currently have for FIREFOX, security and otherwise, and those two issues would be the deciding factors for me, whether or not to switch browsers.
The increase in speed is quite dramatic so it is [...]6 months, 1 week ago · View - Load More
